Grandma and Grandpa Varga came to see our recital in person. And while they were here we spent some time together doing stuff and fishing.
Dad took Grandpa, Owen, Kellen, and Emily out on the boat at Lake Roosevelt on Friday. Don't have any pictures of that day, but they spent all day out on the lake with Dad's new trolling motor, fish finder, and other fun fishing toys.
Saturday morning Mom and Grandma took Grandpa, Kellen, and Kai to the Liberty Lake County library for some dock fishing.
A little geese family was nesting in the reeds nearby and came out to play.
Getting the fishing gear going on the dock
The chair was the best place for Grandpa on the dock.
He could see and 'supervise' all the fishing shenanigans.
They caught 5 fishing, all sunfish and 1 perch.
They had their eye on this one trout who was giving everyone and all bait the stinkeye.

Hot dogs around the fire- complete with brush clippings and smoke
Monday, Memorial Day, we went up to the Avery Cabin site on the North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River and did some fly fishing.
Owen using his fly rod for the first time
First line in the water and Kai caught a little fish
Dad helps Kai get the hook out of the fish
Emily wanted to pet the fish
Owen caught a fish on his fly line for the first time!
We brought hamburgers to cook on these traveling/portable/disposable briquette dishes.
The briquettes didn't really light, so we built a fire and tried to cook the meat over the fire.
It was plenty warm enough to cook the meet, but not well supported, so the meat ended up falling in the fire.
Quick! Their cooked all the way through! Pull 'em out! We can still eat it!
The adults had the meat, everyone else had the freeze dried meals we also brought with us.
And chips. 3 bags of chips. Those went FAST! (haha)
At our picnic table
